Disability Confident, Access to Work, and more – what do you think?

We have had our busiest year for working with members of Business Disability Forum on policy and legislation proposals that affect disability practices in your organisations. COVID brought its own projects for us but, together with our members, we have also work on the experience of working carers, assistive technology in higher education and employment, sick pay, and workplace progression opportunities.

Our last project of the year focusses on the schemes and initiatives many of our members use to recruit, support, and retain disabled employees: Disability Confident, Access to Work (including the Mental Health Support Service), Job Centres, and workplace equalities data monitoring. We are also collecting the percentages of employees who have told you they have a disability or condition to help us identify a UK wide average – a question many of our members commonly ask our Advice Service.

We are therefore looking for as many organisations as possible to complete the following survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/FCFCVFY

Please share far and wide. If a survey is not your thing, please get in touch to arrange a telephone or online video conversation with Angela Matthews, Head of Policy and Research. The survey will close at 8 am on Friday 11 December 2020.

The information and experiences you share with the policy team are confidential. We ask for your sector and the size of your organisation, but details that could identify you or your organisation will not be shared outside of the BDF team.

Thank you for your continued interest in shaping disability-inclusive policy development in Government and in business practice. We will publish our findings in mid-December, and your contribution will inform evidence we will submit to the Work and Pensions Select Committee for their consideration.

We are looking forward to hearing your views.
