Technology Taskforce September 2026
10 September | 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
See it your way, Tesco’s accessible self‑service
We are delighted to be joined by James Hirst, Head of UX Design and Research at Tesco. He will be sharing with us how Tesco’s created accessibility options at self-service checkouts in all their stores. He will talk us through the work they’ve done as part of the journey, how feedback has been their friend, along with a demo of what this looks like in store.
We look forward to hearing what plans they have for their self-service checkouts in the future, and why they were such well deserving finalists in the BDF Disability Smart Impact Awards 2026 – Technology Category.
Voice for All – Accessibility at the Heart of ServiceNow
We are delighted to be joined by Aileen Hackett, Director of Accessibility Product Management at ServiceNow, the winners of the Disability Smart Impact Awards 2026, Technology Category. Aileen will be sharing what made their submission so impressive, why accessibility is central to ServiceNow as an organisation, and how this is reflected in their product.
ServiceNow will show us their Voice Input for Now Assist, an inclusive AI-powered voice interface designed specifically for enterprise environments, enabling users to complete complex workflows using secure, domain-aware natural language voice commands. They’ll also demonstrate other accessibility features that are making a real difference to their disabled user, and just benefitting everyone.
This meeting is for Business Disability Forum Partner and Member organisations only. Invitations have been sent to Partners and Members that are part of the Technology Taskforce Network. If you haven’t received an invitation and you are interested in attending either just this meeting or becoming a Technology Taskforce Network member, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
