NHS Network Jun 2026
18 June | 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
The Welcome antagonist or friendly foe
Career development and progression is a always a hot topic and this month, we have invited Dr Ossie Stuart who runs the Calibre Leadership Programme for Disabled Staff in Higher Education and the NHS to speak to our NHS Network. The Calibre programme has been designed to address the unique challenge of disability in the workplace, creating future leaders by enhancing confidence and empowering disabled individuals to help drive change within their environment. Dr Stuart is a disabled person, a former academic, trustee of major charities, and also an equality and diversity consultant with over 20 years of experience as a trainer and specialist adviser. Prior to that, he spent 15 years as an academic at the Universities of Oxford, York, and Surrey. He has written seminal works on the experience of disabled people of the Caribbean, African and South Asian backgrounds in social care.
As well as being our technical writer, Jean is a former occupational health nurse and disability advisor. She has several years’ experience of spotting when people may need adjustments and how to start the conversations. She will be sharing her tips and insights with us.
This meeting is for Business Disability Forum Partner and Member organisations only. Invitations have been sent to Partners and Members that are part of the NHS Network. If you haven’t received an invitation and you are interested in attending either just this meeting or becoming a NHS Network member, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
