Timms review of Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Business Disability Forum is gathering evidence to feed into the Timms Review of Personal Independence Payments (PIP). PIP is often positioned in the media and in policy as an additional benefit disabled people can get to help them with the costs of their disability. The stories people see in the media and in policy-making about PIP are regularly about disabled people who also need other benefits to support them. This is technically correct and it is the story of very many disabled people in the UK today.
However, there are also many stories, perspectives, and lives of disabled people missing from what is often said and seen about PIP: disabled people working in professional jobs, earning a mid or above-average income, but who also rely on PIP. We want to ensure the Timms Review hears from people in this situation as well. BDF will focus on these stories during the Timms Review.
