Emily Jackson, Senior Disability Business Partner at BDF will deliver a learning session focused on disability, reasonable adjustments and the law. This interactive session aims to improve knowledge and confidence regarding disability in the workplace and employers’ duties under the Equality Act 2010. The session will cover:
- The legal definition of disability and what businesses need to know
- Who decides if a person is disabled under the Equality Act?
- Reasonable adjustments:
- What are they?
- Who makes them?
- When does the legal duty to make adjustments arise?
- How can a business decide if an adjustment is reasonable to make?
- An overview of the different types of disability discrimination with scenarios
- Q&A
