Data reporting announcement from the UK government

On Wednesday 25 March, the UK government made an announcement on mandatory disability data reporting.

Here is what you need to know for now:

  • Government has announced its intent to introduce mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting for organisations with 250+ employees.
  • Under the proposals, organisations will be required to publish 6 key pay gap metrics and workforce composition data.
  • New legislation will be required for this to happen. This will take some time.
  • We will continue to offer advice to Government to make sure that any unintended consequences of reporting are avoided.
  • We will also work with and support our Members and Partners to make sure any mandatory reporting on disability pay gaps is as meaningful as possible and delivers the best outcomes for disabled employees.
  • We will update our Members and Partners on further developments and will ensure you receive the information you need to be ready for any future implementation.
