SME Toolkit
In this Toolkit funded by The City Bridge Trust, you will find practical advice and guidance for all small and medium-sized businesses and start-ups on what being disability-smart means, and how it can benefit your organisation.
Disability and your business
Understanding the needs of disabled people is important. 1 in 5 people in the UK have a disability. This means that many of your employees, customers and clients may have a disability – even if they have never told you about it.
Opening up your business to disabled people can help you recruit and retain valuable staff. It can also help you increase your customer base.
Using this Toolkit
Disabled people often experience barriers both in the workplace and as consumers. The resources in this toolkit provide advice on how you can help remove these barriers and make your business more accessible and inclusive to everyone.
The resources are grouped under three headings:
- Inclusive environments – creating inclusive physical and digital environments.
- Customers – welcoming disabled customers and service users.
- Employees – recruiting and supporting disabled employees.
All the resources in this collection are free and open to all. Members and Partners enjoy exclusive access to the full range of Knowledge Hub resources plus additional membership benefits.
We offer a tailored membership for SMEs. To discuss membership options for your small or medium-sized business email David Goodchild, Director of Memberships or call +44 (0)79-1712-1160
