Tau XL: Empowering the Enablers of Assistive Tech

We’re thrilled to welcome Matt Dean from Tau XL, here to showcase their groundbreaking product, which was a finalist in the BDF Disability Smart 2025 Technology Awards.

Tau XL transforms how professionals engage with Assistive Technology (AT), filling a crucial awareness gap. Rather than serving end-users directly, it equips those who support disabled individuals, from educators, employers, to clinicians, with the insight to apply AT meaningfully. Grounded in the social model of disability, Tau XL reframes the conversation from medical labels to practical solutions, enabling more inclusive, person-centred outcomes.

Wayfinding for All at Schneider Electric

We are delighted to be joined by Rick Blair, Senior Principal Digital Accessibility Program Manager at Schneider Electric. They will delve deeper into their Disability Smart finalist submission, focusing on Schneider Electric’s innovative pilot project at their Boston City Hub. This innovative approach empowers individuals with visual impairments to navigate independently using Bluetooth beacons and a mobile app, significantly enhancing accessibility and inclusivity.

Rick will also be talking about their plans for further roll out, and other technical solutions they are investigating. There will be time for discussion, so please come prepared to get involved.

Lucy will talk through the timings for this years AMM submissions, as well as an update on our drop-in session.
