Hamish Shah is Policy and External Affairs Manager at the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), where he leads a programme of forward-thinking policy development and research focused on the role of management and leadership in advancing equality, diversity and inclusion, and improving job quality across the workforce. His work sits at the intersection of evidence, practice and policy, bringing fresh insight into how organisations and policymakers can build fairer, more inclusive and more productive workplaces.
Hamish works closely with employers, government and sector bodies to translate research into practical recommendations that support better leadership and people management. He is a co-author of several influential CMI reports on inclusion, skills and workplace culture. Alongside his policy role, Hamish has regularly served as a judge for the Business Disability Forum’s Disability Smart Impact Awards, recognising organisations that are driving meaningful change on disability inclusion.
