Briefing – Employment adjustments for people with sight loss

Over two million people in the UK are living with sight loss, with around 350,000 people registered as blind or partially sighted. The number of people with sight loss in the UK is expected to double by 2050.

There are many causes of sight loss – some people are born with a visual loss, others inherit an eye condition and some lose their sight as a result of an accident, after illness, or through age.
