Procurement Network (Online) Sept 2025

September 30 | 10:00 am 11:30 am

How would a disability advocacy directory work for you?

We are delighted to be joined by Julian John, Founder and CEO at Delsion, a disabled owned and led business who deliver people and development solutions designed to help organisations and individuals reach their full potential.

Julian will share with us their ambitions to create a disability advocacy group, focused on making it easier to find disabled led businesses for you to work with in your supply chains. He will also be joined by Scott Johnson, from Veteran Owned UK, as they talk about the work they’ve done for veterans, so we can look to learn from them.

There will be a presentation, but we’d also like to discuss what would be useful for you, as it’s in its early stages, and we’d like you to help shape it! Questions we’ll be looking at include, what information do you need to persuade your stakeholders that disabled led businesses can add value? Do you need a business case? What are you doing around social value that we could look to weave this into? What would you like to see included in a disabled owned and led business accreditation?

Come with your ideas, as well as questions and we look forward to working together on this. After all, if not us, then who, and if not now, then when.

Build in, not bolt on – accessibility from the beginning

We are delighted to be joined by Roger Dennis and Tim Wheeler from Arts Council England, as they share with us their Disability Smart Award winning entry for procurement.

The focus for their entry was for their All In project, which believes that creative and cultural experiences should be accessible to all. They want to improve accessibility and remove barriers to help theatres, museums, galleries, festivals and more to welcome deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent people through their doors.

They will share their award winning entry, by talking us through how they are working with their supply chains to make sure accessibility and inclusion is included in everything they do, and how the BDF’s Disability Smart assessment has helped to give them a framework, plus lots more!

This event will operate using the ‘Chatham House’ rule.
