What works? is Business Disability Forum’s new webinar series designed to guide you through the essentials of disability inclusion. Led by BDF experts, drawing on the experiences of over 600 businesses, What works? will help you decide where to focus your time and resources, and where not to.
At each webinar, you can expect:
- A summary of the law and requirements.
- Practical tips and best practice solutions that really work.
- Signposting to a wealth of resources that will help you continue to build your knowledge.
- The opportunity to ask questions of experts from our Advice Service.
These webinars are open to all, but will be particularly useful for business leaders, HR professionals, and D&I professionals. 
All webinars will be hosted on Zoom and will be BSL interpreted and live captioned.

This webinar will look at the fundamentals of neurodiversity in the workplace to help you understand it, talk about it and support neurodivergent employees to thrive at work. We will look at some commonly experienced barriers and discuss how to ensure the right adjustments are put in place, monitored and reviewed.

This webinar will help you focus on why you are collecting data, when to ask about disability and when it is inadvisable, and how to ask questions that will elicit the most useful answers. Crucially it will also help you understand what to do with the data you have collected to improve employee engagement and create a more inclusive workplace.

When is it reasonable to adjust targets and objectives for employees with a disability or long-term condition? This webinar will help people managers respond sensitively and constructively to performance concerns, and support employees to work to the best of their ability.

This webinar will explore what processes you can put in place to help prevent some long-term absences, and consider how you should support employees if they do go off work for an extended period. Sometimes people develop conditions which seriously impact their lives, and how managers support the employee while they are off can have a significant impact on the length of their absence and their ability to successfully return to work.
What works? Recruiting disabled employees
This webinar focused on where to advertise, how to design inclusive job descriptions, and how to make reasonable adjustments to your recruitment practices. We explored how to create recruitment processes that are inclusive, accessible, and attractive to the disabled talent that you want to attract to your organisation.
