Inkfire Limited: A flexible working framework

About Inkfire Limited

Inkfire Limited provides marketing, tech, website and virtual assistant services to business owners across the globe, with an emphasis on inclusivity and creating a more accessible world. Their entire team is disabled-led with every team member having lived experience of disability.

The challenge

By having a disabled-led team, Inkfire Limited experienced first-hand the lack of accessibility in the workplace and set forth to change that.

The project

Inkfire have developed a flexible working framework tailored to the unique needs of disabled employees. This framework goes beyond traditional accommodations by incorporating insights from team members with lived experience of disability. It includes remote working options, task-specific workflows, and custom schedules that adapt to individual needs, empowering employees to thrive in their roles without compromising their well-being.

In addition to internal practices, they are constantly working to keep up with the evolving world of accessibility online.

Inkfire have worked on User-Generated Content (UGC), where they partner with disabled team members and customers to create authentic, relatable content that amplifies their voices. Through quarterly content shoots, they co-create marketing materials that not only resonate with diverse audiences but also foster a deeper understanding of disability inclusion across different countries and cultures.

Additionally, Inkfire actively mentors other small businesses to help them learn how to become more accessible, creating a ripple effect of inclusion across the wider community. To date, they have mentored over 200 businesses, equipping them with the tools and strategies needed to embed accessibility into their own operations.

The result

Flexible working policies, tailored accommodations, and access to assistive technologies ensure that each individual can perform at their best, meaning even those who would not be able to work other ’standardised’ jobs can find work and a position that they love.

The mentoring provided by Inkfire Limited has supported over 200 small businesses in becoming more accessible. Through one-on-one mentoring and tailored advice, they have helped these businesses implement accessibility solutions that benefit their disabled employees and customers. This ripple effect has extended their influence far beyond their organisation, fostering inclusion across industries and communities.

Additionally, by sourcing software and services from disability-led businesses, they have created a positive economic impact within the disabled community. This commitment not only supports other organisations but also strengthens a broader network of businesses dedicated to inclusion.
