Legal ease for the financial sector
Join Bela Gor, our Director of Legal & Content and Emily Jackson, Senior Business Partner, for an in-depth exploration of the Equality Act 2010 and other disability related legislation as it affects the financial sector in the UK.
This webinar will consider the law as it affects financial service providers of products and services ranging from physical access to banks and retail spaces to websites and apps and products such as investments, savings and current accounts, loans, and insurance. It will not deal in detail with digital accessibility.
In this free online webinar, we will:
- Explore what the Equality Act 2010, and what the reasonable adjustments provisions mean for businesses that offer financial services to disabled people.
- Consider the impact of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Consumer Duty and in particular the duty to ensure the fair treatment of vulnerable consumers.
- Touch on the European Accessibility Act 2025 (EAA) and how it might affect providers of financial services operating in European Union countries and globally.
- Answer some of the most frequently asked questions about disabled and vulnerable consumers and finance from our Advice Service using real life-based scenarios.
Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the scenarios and ask questions during the sixty-minute session.
The webinar is for anyone working in the financial services sector who has an interest in disability and vulnerable consumers.
We will also share useful resources that are available to help you.
