Disability-smart recruitment course

This training module is designed to provide recruitment specialists with the knowledge and skills to attract and support disabled candidates. Course content will provide an understanding of best practice with regards to recruitment and disability. Delegates will learn how to identify and remove
barriers throughout the end-to-end recruitment journey, making the process inclusive for all.

Course delegates will have the opportunity to learn best practice and work through case studies and sample scenarios from previous work with BDF Members to provide practical insights to take away for immediately immediate use in their role.

Learning objectives

  • Understand the impacts of disability inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Learn the organisation’s legal responsibilities to make adjustments for candidates.
  • Be more confident in using the most appropriate and professional language and messaging around disability.
  • Understand barriers and adjustments to the various stages of the recruitment process.
  • Communicate effectively with candidates about the recruitment process and required adjustments.
  • Learn how to determine what is reasonable when making adjustments.
  • Know where to go to for further support.

This course is for a maximum of 20 participants and will run for 3 hours with breaks.
