Disability Confident Awards

Three separate awards for organisations registered for the UK Government’s Disability Confident employer scheme independently judged The Department for Work and Pensions Disability Confident Team.

The Disability Confident scheme supports employers to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the workplace. It provides UK employers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in the workplace. By being Disability Confident and understanding more about disability, employers and their businesses will be better able to understand the needs and potential of disabled people.

1. The Disability Confident Impact Award

This award will go to an organisation that can demonstrate that they are actively progressing through the different levels of the Disability Confident scheme.  (Level 1-2 and Level 2-3)

They will also demonstrate that there has been a positive impact on the organisation in terms of disability employment and other opportunities such as apprenticeships, internships and work experience, and increased the understanding around the cultures and behaviours of disability in the workplace

They will be actively promoting the Disability Confident scheme more widely to other employers, suppliers and stakeholders.

2. The Disability Confident Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace Award

This award will go to a Disability Confident employer that can demonstrate that they have placed mental health and wellbeing at the heart of their organisation.

They will be able to demonstrate that they are raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing across their organisation and have put in place appropriate help and support for their employees.

3. The Disability Confident Small Business Award

This award will go to a Disability Confident small employer that can demonstrate that they have actively supported their disabled employees. This could include making appropriate workplace adjustments that have enabled staff to work remotely or in a blended way, supporting them to deliver their work effectively.

We want to reward and showcase an inspirational small employer that can demonstrate that they have gone the extra mile to support disabled people.
