We are delighted to be welcoming Claire Cookson, CEO of DFN Project SEARCH to deliver an exclusive Employer Champion Training session on supported internships to BDF Partners and Members on Wednesday, 22 November 2023.

DFN Project SEARCH supports employers to offer high quality placements to young adults with a learning disability or autism spectrum condition by providing information, advice and training that enables growth in internships and job opportunities.

This course will be relevant to anyone delivering supported internships, or who is interested in finding out more about them. It is open to CEOs, mentors, buddies, managers and supervisors – everyone in business!

The training is CPD accredited and will cover:

• What is a supported internship?
• Presenting the business case for supported internships
• Strategies to engage employers
• Sector based approach to engagement and partnership working

The course will also equip attendees to spread the word in their sector with confidence about the value of supported internships and of employing young adults with a learning disability or autism spectrum condition.
