After masquerading as an HR professional in a variety of different roles I finally found my current Diversity & Inclusion home 12 years ago. I have been fortunate to work across most of the protected characteristics in my time, but I do have a passion for disability. I have had the opportunity to help shape the disability performance of a number of different areas within a business – and the privilege to share my learnings with other organisations. Through this I have seen progress, but also the need to do more. I am a personally a member of the club, living my life with a mental health condition that I have become progressively more open about. That sharing of experiences and feelings has helped me to further understand more about my condition and how at times it shapes my world. All that said, I am just a person with a cycling proficiency certificate, 25-yard swimming award and a moustache who is now willing to share his lived experience to connect with others. And as you will now gather, little ability to write a bio or take a decent selfie.
