Simon provides consultancy, training and public speaking in the field of disability. Based in London, his work is international, and his creative side saw him co-producing and performing in the sell out Edinburgh Fringe comedy show Abnormally Funny People in 2005, returning in 2015. He co-hosts two podcasts, BBC Ouch! and The Way We Roll.
Simon is a Non-executive director of Motability Operations. He recently joined the board of The National Theatre, is a trustee of Improbable Theatre and of StopGap Dance. He is an Ambassador to the Business Disability Forum. Simon has a Post Graduate diploma in Disability Management at Work and a BSc (Joint Hons) in Philosophy and Sociology, both from City University in London. He is of short stature and uses a mobility scooter.
