How to enter

Categories

There are seven award categories and your organisation may enter up to four categories each year. You must not submit more than one application for the same category. You can see a full list of award categories here.

Once you have chosen which category/ies you wish to enter, you will need to complete and submit a separate entry for each category.


Where possible, entries should be submitted online by visiting the Disability-Smart Awards section of our Membership Hub here

If you are a Member or Partner, you are probably already registered on our Membership Hub. If not, you can register and create an account by clicking here


Non-members

If you are not yet part of our membership we will need to give you temporary access to our Membership Hub. The easiest way to do this is by emailing us at dsawards@businessdisabilityforum.org.uk.

What information you will need to provide

  • The name/title of your entry
  • A description of your entry of up to 500 words
  • Statements of up to 300 words each against a set of criteria
  • At least three pieces of supporting evidence, up to a maximum of five

Please note you can submit evidence with a file size limit of 20MB per item.

Alternative ways of submitting your nomination

If for any reason you are unable to use our online application form you can download a copy of the entry form below. Your completed form should then be e-mailed to us at dsawards@businessdisabilityforum.org.uk by 20 September 2018.

 


Eligibility

Entry to our Disability-Smart Awards is open to all organisations with operations in the United Kingdom. You do not need to be a Member or Partner of Business Disability Forum to enter.

There is no cost to enter the awards.

From the following list click on the title of the category you wish to entry to download the relevant entry form. The entry forms are all provide in Word and should be emailed to us at dsawards@businessdisabilityforum.org.uk.

Judging process

The awards are judged by an independent expert panel which includes distinguished representatives from our Member & Partner organisations, experts on disability, experts in the category being judged and our disabled associates. 

The judges will score your entry against these criteria and the entry with the highest overall score in each category will be the winner.  In the event of a dead heat between two or more entries, we may need to ask you for more information to help the judges determine the winner. In any event the judges' decision is final.

Timetable

We opened submissions for our Disability-Smart Awards in May 2018 and the closing date is 20 September 2018.

Winners will be announced at the Disability-Smart Awards Ceremony in November 2018 (date and venue tbc).


Please note: Any organisation who submits a Disability Standard Submission for Evaluation by Business Disability Forum between January and August 2018 will automatically be considered for an Award.
