Webinar: The value of ADHD in the workplace

Please click here to register your place.

With ADHD Awareness Month taking place in October, neurodiversity specialists Lexxic and Business Disability Forum are partnering for a one-off event focusing on ADHD in the workplace.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurological difference which primarily affects a person’s levels of focus, impulsiveness, and activity.

It may present an individual with challenges in areas that come more naturally to others, but due to that ability to think differently it can also present unique strengths.

For example, many people with ADHD can be impulsive by nature; although this can be a challenge in some contexts, it can also lead to positive outcomes, such as faster decision making. Many individuals with ADHD may find it challenging to focus on a task that has no interest to them, yet they will hyper focus on tasks that do interest them, which can become a competitive advantage in any setting.

In recent years, we have seen expectations grow for organisations to report on, act on, and advocate for individuals with ADHD, who represent approximately 5% of the population. That includes a significant portion of your employees, future talent, supply chain and customers.

So why should organisations consider individuals with ADHD? What does an ADHD friendly workplace look like in practice? What can we learn from other organisations’ journeys?

You will hear from a range of speakers, each with the goal of challenging stereotypes and showing good practice examples.

Specifically, we will cover:

  • Hearing the lived experience of individuals with ADHD
  • Employer’s duty of care under the Equality Act
  • Empowering individuals with ADHD at work
  • Good practice examples ADHD friendly policies
  • Recruiting and retaining talent with ADHD
