Sally Bucknell

Director of Diversity & Inclusiveness, UK&I Ernst & Young LLP

Sally is Director, Diversity & Inclusiveness for the UK&I firm, leading this important function within the Talent team since 2012. She describes EY as powered by different perspectives and believes inclusion will enable the firm to respond to the fast pace of change.

“In our day-to-day work, we do all we can to create a culture where people feel they belong. While this drive to create an inclusive environment is led by my team and and overseen by senior leadership, our employees are passionate advocates themselves, for example by running 26 voluntary employee networks dedicated to championing diversity and inclusiveness. As a result, we’ve seen first-hand how working in more diverse teams improves performance and client satisfaction. Our people tell us they’re happier and more productive when they are free to be their true selves at work.”

Sally has over 25 years’ experience in HR roles in professional services, including at Arthur Andersen and EY. Since joining EY in 2001 she has worked as an HR Director with leadership teams across the firm, both in the regions and nationally.

Sally lives in Cheshire with her partner and two school aged children. She is also a lay member of Keele University Council and mentor to entrepreneurs on the EY Foundations Accelerate programme.
