Central Government Network – Autumn 2018 meeting

For our first item, we are thrilled to confirm our guest speaker is Simon Deville, Deputy Head of Student Services at Birkbeck, University of London. Continuing the Network’s themes of data morning, on-boarding and induction, Simon will be sharing his insights on the following:

  • Data monitoring and encouraging ‘disclosure’ when recruiting students, offering them a place, and on-boarding and inducting them.
  • Arranging adjustments for students before they begin their course.
  • Processes for communicating with and getting personal information from disabled students during the time between offering them a place on a course and Day One of the course.

This will be followed by a ‘question and answer’ session with Simon, and a discussion on what we can learn from the higher education processes that support disabled students.

The second part of our meeting will be a discussion and knowledge exchange on what to consider when seeking to increase the representation of disabled people in Senior Civil Service positions.

Who can attend

This Network is for Central Government Members and Partners of Business Disability Forum. Network members consist of professionals working on disability inclusion and HR strategy across Central Government Departments. Registration is for Network members and by invitation only.
