Business Disability Forum Technology Taskforce Showcase 2018

Generously hosted by KPMG

Join us at Business Disability Forum’s Technology Taskforce Showcase to discuss the future of technology and how it will support people with disabilities.

Experts will be showcasing some of the latest advances in artificial intelligence and smart technology whilst demonstrating how those with disabilities or impairments can make the most of new, innovative and emerging technology. Hear from experts as they discuss artificial intelligence, virtual reality and smart systems throughout the afternoon and how it can affect our everyday lives.
Our Technology Taskforce panel will discuss this in further detail and guests will be presented with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your thoughts on the future of technology.
Explore our exhibition area where you can find out more about the latest developments in Assistive Technology and try out some virtual reality and AI for yourself.
After the success of speaking at our Scottish Conference last year, we are delighted to welcome back Gavin Neate from Neatebox, who will be sharing his insight on how his apps are supporting businesses, along with their customers, including those with disabilities.

We are delighted to welcome Leena Haque and Sean Gilroy who will be presenting the BBC Cape Immersive 360 virtual reality experience. ND DAZE, an immersive experience based on an individual’s sensory and psychological experience of being neurodivergent. Leena will be sharing how the CAPE team realised this fully immersive experience with a twist; one that is not designed to reflect the real world for the purposes of greater immersion, but to replace an expected experience of the real world with that of an alternative reality. There may even be an opportunity to try this VR experience first hand.

We will be welcoming Paul Smyth, Head of Digital Accessibilty at Barclays who will be talking about the future for banking with AI and how this will support their customers with disabilities, along with some live projects and the positive impact for colleagues.

Also joining us, Robin Christopherson MBE, founding member of UK techology charity AbilityNet, now globally acclaimed as leading experts in the field of accessibility and inclusive design, helping clients design attractive websites and apps that are easy to use by all.

Robin will be sharing his knowledge of Smart technology, including the Amazon Echo and talking about how this can support people in the workplace. He will also be talking about his view of the future of AI and his dream for driverless cars.

Further details on speakers, panel members and showcase organisations will be available in the coming weeks.
Register your place to find out more about technology and its effect on the lives of those living with disabilities.
