Business Disability Forum Summer Reception 2019

Summer Reception, Wednesday 31 July 2019

Hosted by Sainsbury's

This event is now full.

Our annual Summer Reception is a networking event for over 200 of our Partners and Associates and key contacts in diversity and inclusion: business leaders, disabled opinion formers and government officials. It’s a chance to get together for drinks, canapés and discussion around topics related to disability as it affects business, as well as sharing the successes of the year, and ideas to shape progress moving forwards.

Our theme this year, as part of our “Going Places” campaign, is summer holidays. Holidays are a highlight for most of us – but for too many disabled people, practical considerations like actually getting there can add a whole new level of complexity! So, before you head off on your own summer holiday, join us to hear disabled people speak about their own travel and holiday experiences – both good and bad! - and aspirations, and perhaps find inspiration for your own travels.

Whether it’s going to work or going on holiday, accessible transport is key. So, we’ll hear too from our CEO Diane Lightfoot who will be announcing the findings from our new Transport Survey and what disabled people told us about their experience of travel and transport. She will also provide a sneak preview of what we have planned for the rest of the year for when you return refreshed from your own summer break.

Drinks and canapés from around the world will be served in our food festival space where you can meet and mingle with friends & colleagues from across our membership.
