The Employment Taskforce sponsored by Microlink brings together Business Disability Forum members and partners to discuss the key issues in relation to the attraction, recruitment and retention of disabled people. The Taskforce has focused on a number of employment-related issues in the last 18 months including;
- Access to Work
- Inclusive recruitment practices
- Workplace adjustments
- Disability passports or adjustment plans
Our next taskforce event will be held as a remote meeting on the 21 October, 10am to 11:30am.
At this meeting we will be focusing on Workplace Adjustments and how to put in place an effective process for making adjustments. We will be joined by Andy Garrett from GSK who will be presenting on the work he has done establishing a robust adjustment process in the UK and in other countries. We will also be joined by Dr Nasser Siabi, CEO of Microlink (our new sponsor of the Employment Taskforce) and representatives from Nuance and Texthelp as we explore what organisations can do to effectively support their employees with adjustment requests.
The meeting will operate as a closed meeting with a view to creating a safe space where people can share some of the challenges they face and the solutions being considered and implemented to overcome these.
