CGI – Case study: Implementing live captioning for nationwide teleconference
CGI is a global IT and business process services provider delivering high-quality business consulting, systems integration and managed services. With over 68,000 professionals in 40 countries across the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe, CGI continues to build on its 37 years of success as an innovative leader in IT business solutions. CGI has been a part of Business Disability Forum (BDF) since 2010 and in that time has consistently strived to improve its disability confidence within the organisation.
Reaffirming this commitment, representatives of CGI attended an event on assistive technology delivered by BDF’s Technology Taskforce in November 2014. Taking place at the top of BT Tower, the event featured exhibitions and presentations from a variety of companies showcasing their latest forms of accessible technology services.
Among the organisations involved, accessible technology company AI Media provided its innovative live event captioning service to accompany the speeches and presentations. Projecting live subtitles on the screen throughout the event, the service was praised by attendees, which included Robe Watson, CGI’s UK CIO, and Neil Gunnell, UK Disability Champion.
