Simon Minty

Simon Minty became an Associate in the late 90s, initially specialising in media and broadcasters. Simon works in the UK and internationally, be it with a small NGO or a multi-national corporation. He has developed a broad understanding of different cultural approaches to disability.

His creative side remains, working with broadcaster to improve the portrayal of disabled people on screen. He has produced numerous videos with the BDF and also produced and performed in the Edinburgh Fringe comedy show Abnormally Funny People.

He co-hosts two shows, BBC Ouch podcast and Phil & Simon Show. Simon has a Post Graduate diploma in Disability Management at Work and a BSc (Joint Hons) in Philosophy and Sociology. He started his career in banking, working for Barclays for seven years and has professional banking qualifications. He has personal experience of disability, being of short stature and of limited mobility.
