Karen Flood

Trainer

Karen Flood works with the Health Care Commission and she also trains people with learning disabilities on behalf of the Commission for Social Care Inspection; they then go into care homes and care services to inspect and make sure people with learning disabilities are looked after properly.

Karen is co-head of First Step, an organisation which was set up in 2000 to assist learning disabled adults, particularly young adults. The group has worked with government and local authorities, and Karen herself has been involved with research for BDF publications such as How to get your money at the Post Office and the British Gas customer guide.
